Clare Valley wine is powerful yet elegant due to its unique climate and particularly the large diurnal temperature difference. Hot days and long dry Autumn’s ensure ripe fruit whilst cool nights deliver long natural acidity. The Clare Valley is characterised by amazing diversity of terroir. Kirrihill leverages this diversity to create wines that are the essence of the Clare Valley. Kirrihill has access to amazing vineyard sites across the Clare Valley including the iconic Schobers vineyard to the south of Leasingham and Slate Creek in Watervale as well as to the north of Clare.

Our Winery

At Kirrihill, we focus on cultivating premium grapes with respect for each vineyard block and estate. Our commitment to sustainable vineyard practices ensures the long-term health of our land and environment. From these grapes, we craft wines that reflect both quality and integrity. Using advanced winemaking facilities, we maintain consistency and reliability while allowing for minimal intervention. This approach enables the unique Clare Valley terroir to express itself in every bottle. Our red wines are unfined and vegan-friendly. Kirrihill is proudly certified Sustainable Winegrowing Australia since 2022, supported by the Australian Wine Research Institute.

Meet our Winemaker

Alexandra Alavoine brings global experience and a French flair to Kirrihill’s wines. Originally from Champagne, she came to Australia for one vintage in 2018, but fell in love with Clare Valley and never left. With a background in iconic regions like Champagne, Provence, and Napa, Alexandra combines tradition and innovation in every bottle. She chose Kirrihill for its reputation in cool-climate Riesling and the welcoming winemaking community. In 2021, she completed the Advanced Wine Assessment Course and now judges at wine shows across Australia. Fun fact: her last name sounds like “I love wine” in French, perfectly fitting for her passion and craft.
